Sarah Palin blunders over talks with British ambassador that never took place as her first TV debate looms

• Half of U.S. voters think John McCain is too old to be president
Sarah Palin has committed yet another political blunder after claiming she had held talks with a British ambassador - talks that never actually took place.
In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience ahead of tonight's make-or-break vice presidential TV debate, her aides listed numerous contacts with foreign officials - including Britain's ambassador to Washington, Sir Nigel Sheinwald.
However the meeting never occurred. Officials at the embassy swiftly contacted the McCain-Palin campaign to inform them of the discrepancy.
A British Embassy spokesman said the error arose after Sir Nigel's name was listed among those who had attended a US Governor's meeting in July.
Blunder: Sarah Palin has been forced to apologise after she mistakenly claimed she had met with British ambassador Nigel Sheinwald at an event which he did not actually attend
Mrs Palin was at the meeting in her role as Governor of Alaska. However Sir Nigel pulled out at the last minute, leaving his name on the guest list.
The embarrassing mishap comes as Mrs Palin faces the biggest challenge of her political life tonight in a head-to-head vice-presidential debate with Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin Book - Going Rogue
Welcome,
By now you certainly are aware of the conservative ex-governor of Alaska and her new book "Going Rogue". Yes I'm talking about Sarah Palin. She is currently on tour promoting her book, and sales are going fairly well so far. After reading some reviews on Amazon, I believe the book is pretty much a way for her to make money and get back at the folks who trashed her during and after the 2008 Presidential election. Perhaps she is saving her money to make a run at the 2012 race for president? I certainly hope so.
The questions about her recently quitting as Alaska's governor, plus the news media hype surrounding her tiff with everyone from Levi Johnston (her daughters ex, and baby-daddy) to John McCain's staff, to Katy Couric, among others, is extremely hard to listen to day after day. What possible reason does she have for bringing up these issues after they have been already forgotten by most Americans? This is an amazing part of the media hype, that even though she is not in office, holds no position whatsoever and doesn't appear to be planning one in the near future, gets the conservatives stamp of approval in nearly every category.
Listen to some of the glowing reviews of her book by hard right-wing conservatives:
DAVID GREGORY: It's extraordinary, and, I mean, she's extraordinary from that point of view of not just the book. I mean, all this year, it's as if she's like a senator or something. I mean, she issues statements and posts things on Facebook as if she's an incumbent or if she's a candidate for something.
Rush Limbaugh: calls Palin memoir "one of the most substantive policy books I've read"
John Ziegler wrote: "I was simply blown away by Going Rogue on almost every level. For many reasons, this is by far the best book and greatest literary achievement by a political figure in my lifetime."
Wow. Seriously? Do you think any of these guys even read the book? Ok, to be fair, they probably skimmed it a little. But a fair evaluation can't be made by any Republican due to the obvious mass hallucination that has been the keystone of the party since she was selected as VP candidate in 2008. What is her future? I can't wait to find out...just for fun check out these great clips!
